Intro
New day Front door Bright air Hey
Verse 1
White sneakers waiting by the mat Iced coffee sweating in a cupholder crack New linen shirt with the crease still on Group chat says, bring everybody along
Pre-chorus
Sun on the receipt in my phone case Keys hit the bowl, then we leave that place One little breath, one little move Everything ordinary starts feeling new
Chorus
Step out, shine up, we feel new like summer All in, all us, moving through the color Windows down all day, let the light run through We don't need a big reason when the whole day feels new Hey, hey, new like summer Hey, hey, all us under Hey, hey, one easy groove Hey, hey, whole day feels new
Verse 2
Peaches rolling in a paper bag Little kids draw hearts where the sidewalks crack Neighbor waves in a sun-faded cap Somebody laughs and the whole block laughs back
Pre-chorus
Sun on the receipt in my phone case Keys hit the bowl, then we leave that place One little breath, one little move Everything ordinary starts feeling new
Chorus
Step out, shine up, we feel new like summer All in, all us, moving through the color Windows down all day, let the light run through We don't need a big reason when the whole day feels new Hey, hey, new like summer Hey, hey, all us under Hey, hey, one easy groove Hey, hey, whole day feels new
Verse 3
Elevator opens with a soft chrome ding Red canvas tote with a tiny brass ring Rain left dots on the windshield glass By noon they're gone and we're laughing past
Pre-chorus
Sun on the receipt in my phone case Keys hit the bowl, then we leave that place One little breath, one little move Everything ordinary starts feeling new
Chorus
Step out, shine up, we feel new like summer All in, all us, moving through the color Windows down all day, let the light run through We don't need a big reason when the whole day feels new Hey, hey, new like summer Hey, hey, all us under Hey, hey, one easy groove Hey, hey, whole day feels new
Verse 4
Picnic blanket, speaker playing low Tangerine slices on a paper plate row Old friends, new names, room by the curb Every small yes turns into a word
Verse 5
Sunset checkout with the sky peach-pink Cart wheels singing in a blacktop sync I look around, everybody in view Same little life, but it shines brand new
