Intro
Blue spoon taps the counter Bare feet drum the linoleum
Verse 1
Curtains lift on toast and berries Shoelaces wait by the door Someone takes the last red strawberry Then splits it into four Coffee yawns, the clock keeps nudging Backpacks crowd the chair One small cup goes hand to hand And wakes the table there
Pre-chorus
No grand parade, no perfect plan Just something good from hand to hand
Chorus
Good goes around Round the table, out the door Good goes around One small smile can make some more Take a little with you Pass a little down Funny how a good day starts When good goes around
Verse 2
Lunchbox opens at the playground Four spoons form an orchestra Berry dots on laughing faces Nobody planned the jam A neighbor waves, the dog joins in The long way home feels short What left the house as breakfast Comes back home as a story
Pre-chorus
No grand parade, no perfect plan Just something good from hand to hand
Chorus
Good goes around Round the table, out the door Good goes around One small smile can make some more Take a little with you Pass a little down Funny how a good day starts When good goes around
Bridge
The little cup was empty By the time the noon rolled on The flavor lingered at breakfast But the welcome traveled on A bite became a welcome A welcome became a sound Now the table is the starting line For good to go around
Chorus
Good goes around Round the table, out the door Good goes around One small smile can make some more Take a little with you Pass a little down Breakfast was the starting place When good goes around
