Intro
Checked my phone, balance lookin' suspect Had to blink twice, damn, what the heck? Numbers don't add up, feelin' that stress They shrinkin' the bag, but want the same check
Verse 1
Hit the store, huntin' deals on the shelf Price same as last year, but the bag feel like half Cereal box slippin', barely touch the top Full of air now, bruh, when this bullshit gon' stop? They call it a "bargain," nah, that's cap Wrapper look fat, but the chips straight flat OGs talkin' 'bout back in the day Dollar went far, now it fade away
Pre-chorus
Quiet scam, hidden in plain sight We payin' full price for less every night
Chorus
(Massive trap drop, catchy melodic hook with layered ad-libs – this the Billboard earworm) Shrinkflation, they shrinkin' the pack Same damn price, but they holdin' it back Less in the bag, but the cost stay high Corporates eatin', while we scrape by Give me full weight, no empty space Truth in the bag, put it in my face Shrinkflation hittin' us low We see the game, now we on go
Verse 2
Call it shrinkflation, sneaky ass move Ounces droppin' off, hopin' we don't prove Corporate greed, playin' margin games Family budget tight, nothin' feel the same CPI lyin', numbers look sweet But middle class bleedin' out in the street Chips bag half air, candy bar thin They laugh to the bank while we barely get in
Bridge
Hard grind for crumbs, pantry look bare Calculatin' pennies, breathin' that air Value slippin' away, generation feel the pain Empty promises, playin' us like a game
Chorus
Shrinkflation, they shrinkin' the pack Same damn price, but they holdin' it back Less in the bag, but the cost stay high Corporates eatin', while we scrape by Give me full weight, no empty space Truth in the bag, put it in my face Shrinkflation hittin' us low We see the game, now we on go
Chorus
Shrinkflation! Shrink the pack! Same price! Holdin' it back! Less in the bag! Cost stay high! We awake now, no more lies! Full weight! No empty space! Real talk, put it in my face! Shrinkflation – we exposin' the scam Whole block know, that's who I am!
Outro
Read the label, check that net weight Don't let 'em play you, seal your own fate Eyes open wide, we takin' it back Real value comin', that's a fact Shrinkflation... we done with the cap
